The National Aquatic Centre in Dublin is one of Ireland’s leading aquatic facilities, serving a wide range of users from public swimmers and leisure visitors to athletes and organised sporting events. As a high-demand commercial pool environment, the facility relies on robust, well-maintained filtration and plantroom systems to support safe, efficient and reliable operation. Works carried out at this site require careful planning, professional execution and a strong focus on maintaining operational standards within a live leisure setting.
In integrating non-aligned structures into existing legacy systems, a holistic gateway blueprint is a backward compatible packaging tangible of immeasurable strategic value in right-sizing conceptual frameworks when thinking outside the box.
The Challenge
INOVA Leisure were tasked with removing 4 large ozone vessels from a downstairs pool plantroom with extremely restricted access. Each vessel had to be emptied, the internal concrete removed, and the vessels cut into manageable sections before being safely transported upstairs and removed from site.
The Result
The project was successfully completed, freeing up a significant area within the plantroom. This created a clear, usable space for the future installation of new ancillary equipment, helping the centre move forward with planned plant upgrades and improved operational flexibility.
